PAST PRESIDENT REINIER LACSAMANA OF ROTARY CLUB OF PASIG EAST SPEAKS UP FOR MENTAL HEALTH ON “USAPANG BUDGET NATIN”
JULY 11, 2025 – PHILIPPINE INFORMATION AGENCY

In a heartfelt and powerful guesting on Usapang Budget Natin, Past President Reinier Lacsamana of the Rotary Club of Pasig East took center stage to speak about a topic too often left unspoken—Men’s Mental Health.
The interview, hosted by fellow Rotarian Richard Vargas, President-Elect of Rotary Club of Kalookan North, and Erick Vocal of the Department of Budget, was aired live via Usapang Budget Facebook Page, Radyo Pilipinas 738kHz, RP1 News, and through the platform of USEC Goddess Hope Libiran.
The special feature highlighted Rotary District 3800 project, “Kulay ng Kabutihan: A Colorful Afternoon of Painting and Creating,” an art workshop and service activity held last July 1 at the Special Children Education Institute, Pasig City. The project was launched to mark the first day of the new Rotary year, starting the year with a celebration of children and service.

“Men are often taught to hold in their emotions, to remain strong and silent,” he said. “But silence can be heavy. Art allows us to release, to process, and to heal. I encourage more men to pick up a brush, write a poem, make music—express themselves, and find their wellness through creativity.”
The episode also served as a tribute to Men’s Mental Health Month, where Past President Reinier emphasized the importance of safe spaces and creative outlets for emotional well-being. His message resonated deeply, as he used his platform to advocate for mental wellness, particularly among fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons who quietly struggle.
As a Rotary Public Image initiative, the feature also reflected the club’s commitment to amplifying stories of impact through media platforms—bringing Rotary closer to communities and reminding everyone that doing good starts with care, connection, and courage.
This interview showcased Rotary Club of Pasig East's active role in meaningful conversations, turning service projects into voices of advocacy and healing.
